“Campaign to End the New Jim Crow” — now on Nation Inside

We are thrilled to announce a new partner campaign on the Nation Inside web platform. The Campaign to End the New Jim Crow, based in New York and aiming to go national, challenges “the culture of racism, repression and retribution that sustains mass incarceration.” This past weekend, the Campaign sponsored a convergence in New York City of groups from around the state to plan a course of action. On the Campaign’s website on Nation Inside, watch some of the videos of participants in that convergence, from a veteran prison activist and organizer in the Attica uprising to some powerful young voices. There, you can also watch a video of Michelle Alexander speaking at the legendary Riverside Church, about her book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness, the inspiration for the Campaign.
